After another year or so, the civil war in Ilkhan finally came to a complete end.
When the Ilkhan Workers' Party Rebel Army finally captured the Ilkhan Royal Capital, Basman revealed its true intentions and began openly demanding assets from the Workers' Party that had belonged to the former Ilkhan regime, including but not limited to land, wealth, resources, and technology.
This naturally provoked fierce resentment from the Ilkhan Workers' Party. Having only just tasted the sweetness of liberation, the Ilkhan people feared plunging back into slavery and were deeply wary of the Basman people.
With pressure coming from Dierjia, Basman could hardly commit its full strength to attacking Ilkhan. But the Basman people believed that the now-weakened Ilkhan and the Workers' Party, deprived of Basman's support, were no match for them and would require barely a fraction of their strength to defeat.
So Basman mobilized its forces to invade Ilkhan directly. Clearly, however, it had misjudged the Ilkhan people's resolve and fighting spirit.
After nearly three years of struggle, more than half of Ilkhan's territory had enjoyed at least a year, and in some cases more than two years, of peaceful life. Those had been days when everyone worked hard, but everyone could also see hope-days when a happy future lay clearly before them.
When Basman's invasion loomed, the Ilkhan people displayed a fighting spirit far stronger than when they had rebelled against Ilkhan's old regime. Having seen hope, and even attained it, they refused to return to the past.
The situation many of Dierjia's upper nobles had hoped to see finally emerged, and their arguments and accusations ceased. The seemingly enfeebled Ilkhan Kingdom actually fought the Basman people tooth and nail and held firm under the pressure.
Basman's pride and arrogance would not allow it to accept defeat.
