A black-clad official delivered a black dossier to Mulan's office. Mulan looked at him and frowned.
"Where is Sir Walton?"
"My lord, we still cannot enter the secret chamber. Clearly, Lord Walton has yet to fully awaken."
"I see."
Mulan replied evenly as he opened the black dossier. Its cover alone carried an ominous air, and the text inside made his pupils widen slightly, his expression visibly changing.
There were familiar names among those listed. At one particular name, Mulan's gaze finally stopped, and he read it softly aloud.
"Owen... To think even he harbored disloyal intentions."
"It is regrettable, my lord, but those are the facts. Several members of agencies subordinate to the Imperial Intelligence Directorate disappeared while tracking and investigating him. I doubt they will return. Although we lack conclusive evidence, this is enough for us to draw that inference."
Mulan raised his head and nodded slightly.
"This matter has indeed gone beyond your ability to handle. I will get to the bottom of it. Incidentally, what is Her Majesty's opinion?"
A document like this could not have gone to Mulan first. At least several others would have received the news before him, and Nisheriel would certainly have been the first to read it.

Proceeding in accordance with the dossier was tantamount to declaring the targets guilty of treason. After confirming this once more, Mulan sent the official away and fell into thought, holding the dossier. Once the footsteps had faded, the complicated expression on his face gradually settled into calm.
