The Black Castle, which the people of Digo had always considered dark and sinister, had now become truly terrifying.

Mulan lay in the underground storeroom like a genuine corpse, sensing the movements above him. His thoughts never stopped, though. Whatever was moving around in his house was clearly searching for living things.

This thing probably has nothing to do with Dolly. Then what is it? Why is it attacking people in the Black Castle? How many people have been attacked? Where have all the powerful figures in the Black Castle gone?

Mulan thought he was on fairly good terms with Dolly. He had just treated her to dinner, after all, and they seemed to have grown a little closer. Even if Dolly did something outrageous, the worst that could happen was that Mulan would later fall under suspicion by association. She would never attack him directly.

Things had gone quiet above him, but Mulan still did not move. He had no idea whether the thing had left.

Boom! The entire floor split open with a tremendous crash. Muddy water poured into the underground storeroom, reaching Mulan's side. But Mulan was a corpse now, with neither breath nor a sense of smell, only spiritual perception, so he could not smell the foul stench.

"Huh? The owner of this house is already dead?"

A strange voice sounded overhead. Then the storeroom's battered little door was torn open, and a bizarre figure more than two and a half meters tall, seemingly covered entirely in mud, peered at Mulan. Two equally mud-covered wings protruded from its back.
