Kazaan spread his arms. The enormous, hideous wound across his exposed chest slowly healed, as though the blood he had shed was flowing backward, gradually restoring him to normal...
All the while, the bald old man in the kimono watched him with the wary gaze one reserved for a threat.
"That ability is truly evil... Saint Caprias, I'm going in."
The man spoke as he watched Kazaan's frenzied expression. The enormous dragon Capulias had become nodded like a human, but Baldhead had already charged forward!
Clang!
Almost the instant his figure vanished, the sound of clashing metal rang through the air. Nidai Kitetsu had met Shodai Kitetsu!
"Oh? So you're coming first, old man."
Kazaan's voice reached the man's ears, its distinctive resonance carrying a note of madness.
"Young man, confidence is a good thing, but yours will cost you your life."
The man's voice remained as calm as stagnant water. His steady, rock-solid words emerged from his deeply wrinkled lips.
By contrast, Kazaan was like a dancing flame, wild and excited...
"Then come on! Let me see whether you have what it takes to back those words up!"
A wicked smile curled Kazaan's lips as he spoke.
"Savage Bite!"
But a sudden roar interrupted their seemingly cordial conversation.
It was Capulias! The enormous, brightly colored dragon he had become opened his blood-red maw and lunged at Kazaan, who was still locked in a clash with the man!
"Damn it!"
Kazaan's heart sank at the sight of those rapidly approaching fangs, but he abruptly forced the man back. A purple-black aura rose from Shodai Kitetsu's blade once more, while Nidai Kitetsu let out a mournful cry in Kazaan's grip.
But Kazaan had no time to worry about his sword. Capulias's fangs were already above him. There was nowhere to dodge!
