A rare look of curiosity appeared on Barn's face. Despite his youthful appearance, he was remarkably mature on the inside. With his memories of his previous life as well, very little ever aroused his curiosity. This was a first.
Rayleigh gave Barn a puzzled look and asked.
"Huh?"
"Barn, what suddenly made you want to go to the Auction House?"
Barn merely smiled and said to Rayleigh.
"Hey, don't get the wrong idea. I don't have a hobby of selling myself. I'm going there to buy things this time. Of course, if you want to sell yourself again, I won't stop you."
At that, Barn's smile took on a mysterious edge.
Seeing that smile, Rayleigh suddenly felt a chill shoot from his tailbone to the back of his head. A sense of foreboding welled up inside him.
"Uh... Barn, are you sure you have money? I don't believe Lia would give you money to go to the Auction House. Let me make this clear first: I have nothing to lend you."
Rayleigh probed cautiously. With someone as shameless as Barn was in his eyes, he could never be too careful.
Barn waved a hand and said.
"Relax, relax. Of course Lia wouldn't give me money, but my other precious disciple would! Hehe, let's go, old man."
With that, Barn dragged the still-worried Rayleigh outside, only to run into Lia at the door as she was about to come in.
"Huh? Master, where are you going?"
Lia looked curiously at Barn as he pulled Rayleigh along.
Barn waved casually and said.
"The Auction House!"
But when Lia heard that, she bristled and shouted.
"The Auction House? Where did you get the money?"
Barn froze, but only for an instant before his legs began pumping furiously.
Oh no, I let it slip.
