Perhaps to conceal his identity, Barn had dressed very differently from before. He wore a sea-blue shirt covered in tiny yellow flowers over a casual white tank top, with light green beach shorts and sandals. Anyone who did not know better might have thought he had just returned from fishing by the sea. Even the signature black ribbon over his eyes had been replaced by oversized sunglasses. With First-Generation Onikiri serving as his walking stick, its scepter-shaped scabbard made the disguise quite convincing. He walked onto the stage like that, and not a single person recognized him as Barn, the great Pirate whose fame was rapidly spreading across the seas.
His appearance still gave something away, however: he was far too young. A young man-that was everyone's first impression. But when they connected him to the bid of six hundred and ten million Beli, they could not help speculating.
"Whose rich young son is that?"
"Could he be some noble's illegitimate son?"
The people below the stage whispered among themselves, while the Celestial Dragon sitting in the front row, Marshuk, wore a cold sneer.
Thanks to Mind's Eye, Barn moved no differently from an ordinary person. At least, no one could tell that he was blind. The host wearing a five-pointed star eagerly clasped Barn's hand, constantly rubbing the back of it with his rough fingers, apparently unconcerned that people might suspect he was attracted to men. Of course he wanted to flatter Barn. In his eyes, a young man who spent so lavishly was no different from a golden pig waiting to be slaughtered.
"Haha, young sir, you're truly accomplished for your age! And so courageous, with such a discerning eye! I'm sure you'll find this purchase worth every one of those six hundred and ten million Beli."
