Barn's Mind's Eye naturally detected it, but with his foot already stepping forward, how could he dodge so easily? He slashed the First-Generation Onikiri across one of the enormous balloons!
That slash was like the last straw that broke the camel's back. The balloon touched by the First-Generation Onikiri's blade swelled violently in an instant, then burst!
The massive blast wave detonated the other three bombs at once. The shock wave from all four balloon bombs swept across the entire Gyoncorde Plaza!
Barn, of course, had already vanished from the blast zone. Instead, he used the force of the explosion behind him to propel himself toward Gladius even faster!
The First-Generation Onikiri in his hand was already poised to strike, and it slammed straight into a sword Gladius had pulled out from somewhere!
As a subordinate of the man known as the Heavenly Yaksha, Gladius possessed strength that could not be underestimated. Against Barn, however, he clearly fell short.
The enormous disparity in their strength sent Gladius flying backward from that single slash!
Yet despite being knocked away and apparently losing the upper hand, Gladius smiled beneath his thick mask.
"Something's wrong!"
Barn immediately sensed something amiss. Gladius had seemingly put very little strength into the sword he had used to block him. Even with the difference in their power, the result should not have been like that.
Sure enough, Barn's Danger Sense proved reliable. He was now standing on the patch of ground Gladius had occupied earlier-and Gladius had tampered with it!
The ground swelled in an instant. Unlike those stones earlier, it did not go through what felt like a drawn-out process. This happened fast, going from expansion to explosion in the blink of an eye!
"Landmine Blast..."
Still flying backward, Gladius saw that Barn had indeed fallen
