Koza lay weakly on the ground, staring at Barn, who had suddenly appeared before him, with confusion and wariness.
Koza was badly wounded. The bullet fired by the Millions agent posing as a Royal Army soldier had almost torn through his torso. For an ordinary man like Koza, simply managing to stay conscious was already remarkable.
"Don't speak yet."
Koza had not received timely treatment because of Barn, and Barn certainly was not going to let him die so easily. He had already placed his hand over Koza's wound.
"Hiss..."
Koza felt a stab of pain when Barn touched his wound directly, but somehow, looking at Barn's face, he could not summon the slightest urge to resist.
A soft green glow rose from Barn's hand as it covered Koza's wound...
Koza stared at his wound in horror. A round black bullet slowly rolled out on its own, and the wound began closing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
But with all his attention on his wound, Koza failed to notice that Barn's hair had grown much longer...
"Who exactly are you? Why did you save me?"
With his wound completely healed, Koza slowly stood up against the wall. He looked at Barn's back in confusion, though the wariness in his eyes had disappeared.
"My name is Barn. Barn Bashut. I'm a pirate."
Barn? The vaguely familiar name did not quite register with Koza, but Barn's last words immediately put him on guard again.
"You're a pirate?"
Koza leaned his still-weakened body farther against the wall, his eyes filled with suspicion as he watched the pirate before him.
"Don't be nervous. I'm not actually the one who wants to talk to you."
Perhaps sensing Koza's wariness, Barn turned around with a warm smile and spoke calmly.
"Then who is?"
