The man draped over an equally sickly-looking horse held out a basket of sinister-looking black apples, doing his best to put on what he thought was a kindly smile.
"Have one."
His voice was weak as he spoke to Zoro.
"I don't take things when I don't know where they came from..."
Naturally, the wary Zoro had no intention of eating something that already looked so suspicious...
Seeing that Zoro wouldn't accept one, the man offered the basket to Luffy instead.
"Huh? Apples?"
Luffy wouldn't think that hard. If you took food out of his head, there would be almost nothing left. Without a shred of caution, he took an apple from the basket and stuffed it straight into his mouth.
"Hey, hey, hey! Don't eat that! Don't eat it!"
Zoro immediately shouted, but he was too late. Luffy had already swallowed the black apple.
Barn frowned as well, locking his Mind's Eye onto the man lying across the horse.
Just then, a huge explosion rang out behind Luffy and the others!
"Aaaah!"
"What happened?"
"A man just gave them five strange apples. After they ate them... all five of them exploded!"
"What?"
"Damn it! That's inhuman!"
"The shop's a horrible mess!"
"..."
At the voices behind them, Luffy, Nami, Zoro, and even Barn froze.
"Hey! Spit it out! Luffy! Spit out that apple right now!"
Nami grabbed Luffy by the neck and shook him violently...
"Mmmph... I've already swallowed it..."
"Damn you! What the hell are you playing at?"
Zoro had already drawn his sword, his fierce eyes fixed on the man, whose face now wore an evil smile.
But Barn stepped forward and stopped Zoro, looking at the man with a dark expression.
"Enough, Zoro. If anything were going to happen, Luffy would have exploded already."
Then he
