Zhou Cheng was formally named God of Shinobi, then conquered Iwagakure and became entangled in the Akatsuki’s hunt for the tailed beasts. He defeated Pain and Kara attackers during an assault on Konoha, but the appearance of a resurrected army left the village facing a new threat.

• The Five Great Villages recognized Zhou Cheng as God of Shinobi, and he attended Koyuki Kazahana’s banquet, where he confronted officials and rejected her offer to produce an heir for the Land of Snow.
• During the title ceremony, Ōnoki and other attackers ambushed Zhou Cheng, but he survived, defeated Victor, and began a campaign that made Iwagakure a Konoha vassal.
• After the Akatsuki captured Gyuki, Zhou Cheng saved Killer B and brought him to Konoha, while Raikage A requested a Five Kage Summit and Ōnoki sought Kara’s help against Zhou Cheng.
• Zhou Cheng refused Obito’s demand for the Nine-Tails, prepared Konoha for an attack, and confronted Pain when the Akatsuki assaulted the village.
• Zhou Cheng defeated the Deva Path, contained its devastating attack with shadow clones, and captured or drove off the Akatsuki members who had attacked Konoha.
• Zhou Cheng stopped Victor and defeated Boro after they attacked Konoha’s prison and armory, but Kara’s remaining members escaped.
• An ANBU member reported that dead shinobi, including the Third Hokage, had appeared around Konoha, and Zhou Cheng identified their resurrection as Impure World Reincarnation and ordered the village to prepare for them.
