River of Time

"Where is this?"

Ye Liang opened his eyes in a vast, boundless void. There was nothing around him—no objects, no space, not even any sense of so-called time!

"Host, this seems to be some strange place. I cannot sense any energy here, as though even your body no longer exists."

Ye Liang looked around and was shocked to discover that he really had become nothing more than a strand of consciousness!

"How is that possible? Could I really be dead?" He was slightly puzzled. His last memory was of being struck by that man, then silently flying backward.

He had originally planned to borrow the man's force and seize the chance to escape, but the moment his back turned cold, he lost all consciousness.

"I remember that man seemed to mention something called the River of Time. I don't really understand it, but this is probably the River of Time he was talking about."

"River of Time?" Ye Liang froze. It was the first time he had heard that name. He looked to the side, but he could not sense the passage of time at all.

"No matter what, I have to get out of here. Since my consciousness can still exist, it means I haven't truly been destroyed. I was probably just sealed somewhere." After thinking it over, Ye Liang began heading toward a destinationless direction.

And so, he walked for a very, very long time—so long that even he himself could no longer tell.

Ye Liang's beard grew out.

"System, how long have I been walking? Why is everything around me still so white?"

"Without any reference points, I don't know how long it has been either. But I kept time internally. It seems we've already been walking for about a month or two."

"A month or two?!"
