He walked up to Kabuto Yakushi and reached out, snatching the other syringe Kabuto was about to pick up with incredible speed and precision. It seemed to contain some kind of clear liquid.
"I told you before, no tricks." Toru Kujyo toyed with the syringe, his gentle tone sending a chill down Kabuto Yakushi's back. "Orochimaru, did you not hear me clearly?"
Orochimaru's expression darkened. He knew his little scheme had been exposed. He had intended to have Kabuto Yakushi secretly inject some inhibitors or tracking nanobots after administering the Hashirama cells, allowing him to control Sasuke later. But Toru Kujyo was far more vigilant than he had imagined.
"Toru Kujyo-kun, you've misunderstood." Orochimaru spoke hoarsely, trying to explain. "Kabuto only wanted to perform a routine postoperative examination on Sasuke-kun..."
"A routine examination?" Toru Kujyo cut him off and gently closed his hand around the syringe. With a crack, the syringe and the liquid inside instantly turned to powder, scattering across the floor.
"This doesn't look like something you'd use for a routine examination." He was still smiling, but that smile chilled Orochimaru and Kabuto Yakushi to the core.
Toru Kujyo ignored the two of them and walked over to Sasuke, bending down beside him. Sasuke's body had settled down, and the Hashirama face on his chest had stopped writhing. But he was still deathly pale, his forehead covered in cold sweat, clearly still suffering from extreme weakness and pain.
"Thanks for hanging in there, my good son." Toru Kujyo's voice softened, carrying a barely perceptible trace of concern.
Sasuke's eyes snapped open. His Mangekyō Sharingan looked somewhat dim in his weakened state. He wanted to say something, but his entire body was powerless, and his throat was dry.
Toru Kujyo extended a finger and gently pressed it against the
