"Nagato," Obito said, his voice low and hoarse. Rather than looking at the battlefield, he turned his lone eye toward Nagato inside the Tower. "It seems we both underestimated how unpredictable this world could be."
Nagato looked at the suddenly appeared "Madara," a flicker of conflicted wariness crossing his eyes.

Inside the Tower, the oppressive atmosphere seemed almost frozen solid. Cold metal tubes extended from Nagato's back, connecting him to the machines that kept him alive-and to his authority as a "god." Yet now, that authority was being mercilessly crushed by the true "god" outside.
"So you've come, Madara." Nagato's voice was hoarse and dry. He did not turn around, his gaze still fixed on the battlefield through the window, as though he could pierce the being named Otsutsuki Toneri with his eyes alone. There was not a trace of joy at seeing an ally in his tone, only unrelenting suspicion and scrutiny. "Was all of this part of your plan, too?"
