An Annoying Person

After a flurry of confusion, the sailors aboard the Nightglow took their stations, hoisted the sails, and caught the wind, setting course westward.

"Luo De, what exactly happened? How did a Heaven Tier powerhouse show up?" Seeing that the Nightglow had set sail, Doreze finally felt his frantic heart settle a little. He immediately turned to Luo De and asked about the Heaven Tier powerhouse.

"Who knows! Sea Wolf and I were discussing business, and everything was going perfectly well when a naval force suddenly appeared! Sea Wolf went out to fight them at once, but who could have imagined they had a Heaven Tier powerhouse backing them!" Wearing a bitter expression, Luo De told Doreze everything that had happened.

"Could you have been mistaken?" Doreze still found it hard to believe.

"How could I possibly have been mistaken! That terrifying presence chilled me to the bone. It was definitely a Heaven Tier powerhouse! Before that presence, I couldn't muster even the slightest thought of resistance. If that wasn't a Heaven Tier powerhouse, what was it? Honestly, if I hadn't experienced it myself, I wouldn't believe one had appeared in the Still Sea Region either! Nothing like this has happened in over a decade!" Luo De stressed his words, confirming it once again. Alongside the shock in his voice was a trace of deep worry.

"A Heaven Tier powerhouse actually appeared in the Still Sea Region. Does that mean something big is about to happen again?" Like Luo De, Doreze showed a trace of concern.

"Forget it, Doreze. There's no point standing here making wild guesses. What matters is picking up speed and getting back to Andal Harbor! After all, we have more people there, and it'll be easier to investigate." Luo De patted Doreze's shoulder, seemingly trying to reassure himself as much as Doreze.

"Heh, once word of this gets out, I reckon certain people in Andal Harbor won't be able to eat or sleep in peace!" Doreze gave a couple of bitter chuckles, then suddenly thought of something. His bitter smile immediately turned into a look of gloating delight.

"Hehe, exactly! Just imagining the wonderful expressions on their faces when they hear the news makes me feel fantastic!" Luo De joined Doreze in snickering.

Zhang Yao followed Luo De and Doreze toward the cabin. Watching the two men go from deeply worried to snickering together, their delight at others' misfortune written all over their faces, he couldn't help reflecting that whoever they were discussing was certainly in for a terrible stroke of bad luck.

"Tsk, tsk, isn't this our dear Mr. Luo De? Fate really does keep bringing us together! To think we'd meet aboard Captain Doreze's Nightglow! What a surprise!" Just as the three entered the cabin, an intensely irritating voice rang out. Though the words sounded like the delighted greeting of an old friend, the mocking tone made it clear that the two sides were anything but friends.

Zhang Yao raised an eyebrow and looked toward the voice. Two men stood before them, one slightly behind the other. Both were tall and powerfully built, with sun-darkened skin and vicious expressions. One glance was enough to tell that neither was someone to trifle with.

"Hmph, where did these two little dogs come from, barking their heads off? Honestly, Doreze, you let anything aboard your Nightglow, whether it's human or not? Really!" Luo De gave a soft snort. Rather than spare the two men a proper glance, he turned to Doreze and complained.

"Heh, what choice did I have? Making the round trip just for your business wouldn't even cover my costs! So I gritted my teeth, hardened my heart, and let them aboard." Beaming pleasantly, Doreze put on an apologetic expression.

"You..." The two newcomers were immediately left speechless by Luo De and Doreze's barbs.

"Hehehe..." Listening to Luo De and Doreze's exchange, then glancing at the other two men's expressions, Zhang Yao simply couldn't hold back and laughed on the spot. Those two were vicious! Without using a single dirty word, they had traded a couple of remarks and neatly shoved the others out of the human race. Brilliant!

"What are you laughing at, brat? Watch it, or I'll cripple you!" Hearing Zhang Yao laugh made the two men lose even more face. They immediately pointed at him and shouted.

"Hey! Plachy Brothers, this man is my guest, and you're threatening him aboard my ship! Are you looking for trouble?" Doreze had a good impression of Zhang Yao, so when the Plachy Brothers threatened him, Doreze immediately stepped forward to help.

"Tsk, tsk, Doreze, you fat, dark-skinned bastard! I thought you only had a thing going with that old pretty boy Luo De! Who knew you had something going with this young pretty boy too! Your tastes really are broad-you take them young and old alike! Hahaha!" Seeing Doreze step forward to speak for Zhang Yao, the Plachy Brothers burst into brazen laughter, as though they had discovered a new continent.

Luo De's and Doreze's faces instantly darkened. A cold glint flashed in Doreze's two small eyes, and a faint trace of killing intent seeped from him.

"What? Now that we've uncovered your secret, you want to kill us to silence us? Hahaha!" Seeing Doreze's expression, the Plachy Brothers laughed even louder. Their exaggerated laughter drew quite a few sailors over. Seeing the two men mocking their captain, some of the more hotheaded sailors were already rolling up their sleeves, ready to teach them a proper lesson.

"Stop! All of you, get back! Sending this many men to deal with just two people would disgrace the Nightglow! Stand aside and watch how I deal with them!" Doreze hurriedly stopped the sailors who were about to charge forward, preparing to take action himself. In truth, it wasn't because he feared being accused of ganging up on them, as he claimed. He knew that although the Plachy Brothers were rotten people, they were formidable fighters. Sending his sailors against them would accomplish nothing. He was the only person aboard who could handle the pair. As for Luo De and Zhang Yao, Doreze had completely and utterly overlooked them.

Doreze knew Luo De's capabilities inside out. The man probably couldn't even beat an ordinary sailor, let alone the Plachy Brothers. And although Zhang Yao looked tall and sturdy, his youthful face made him look like a child who had yet to grow up. Sending him in would probably be serving him up on a platter too.

"Wait, Captain Doreze! Let me handle this!" Just as Doreze was about to charge forward and settle things with the Plachy Brothers, Zhang Yao suddenly caught hold of him and stepped toward the brothers first.

"Hey! Brother Zhang Yao, what are you doing?" Doreze froze. By the time he reacted, Zhang Yao was already standing before the Plachy Brothers. Startled, Doreze hurried to rush over and take his place, but Luo De grabbed him before he could move.

"Luo De, what are you doing? Let go of me!" Doreze said anxiously.

"Don't worry! Relax, relax. Zhang Yao will be perfectly fine! We can just stand here and enjoy the show!" Smiling, Luo De signaled that Doreze had nothing to worry about and should simply enjoy the spectacle.
