Could this have something to do with that "Medium"?
The moment this thought sprang into Eli's mind, it began growing uncontrollably like weeds-almost instinctively, the scout recalled the scene of the Medium guiding restless souls to the Land of Eternal Rest.
Those fireworks had caused far too much of a stir.
Anyone who wasn't blind or deaf knew what had happened.
And anyone well-informed knew what had happened afterward, too.
As a scout, Eli certainly qualified as well-informed.
And so, his first guess immediately followed-
Could the Bandaged Swordsman before me have slipped out while that Medium was guiding restless souls to the Land of Eternal Rest?
But a second guess followed right on its heels-
The Bandaged Swordsman appeared in the ruins behind Mule Street. Judging by how he looked just now, he was clearly searching for or remembering something. It probably had something to do with the Sunk Family.
And that Medium just happened to solve the massacre of the Sunk Family from twenty years ago.
Was there a connection between the two?
No!
There had to be a connection between the two!
After hesitating for less than a second, Eli became utterly certain.
Then the scout began to hesitate again.
This time, of course, he wasn't questioning his previous guess.
Instead, he was considering how to profit from this affair.
Yet in the end, Eli said nothing, even as the Bandaged Swordsman left. In part, he felt a little gratitude toward the Bandaged Swordsman.
But mostly, it was because...
He didn't dare!
He truly didn't dare!
Eli was hardly a fearless man.
Otherwise, after witnessing the dangers of the mystical side, he wouldn't have chosen to stop advancing and become Count Bette's scout.
Until he knew exactly what the Bandaged Swordsman was, Eli would never take that
