More than ten minutes had passed since Luo Xia sent the signal. Scattered Ghost-Tamers from nearby had arrived, but Weirds had already begun coming ashore.
All kinds of aquatic monsters were crawling onto land, each more bizarre-looking than the last.
Luo Xia glanced around at the Ghost-Tamers and called out loudly.
"Everyone!"
The Ghost-Tamers had already been drawn to Luo Xia's thoroughly high-tech appearance. His shout brought all their attention to him.
Luo Xia continued.
"I'm an A-Rank Ghost-Tamer from the Special Affairs Bureau! This is an emergency, so I'll skip the formalities! Please help me hold off these Weirds coming ashore until the main force arrives!"
With that, Luo Xia took the lead and charged down.
The other Ghost-Tamers activated their abilities and followed Luo Xia onto the beach, killing the Weirds coming ashore.
Most of these Ghost-Tamers lived nearby, and their strength was generally unremarkable. In fact, the vast majority had only grafted on a Living Corpse's arm.
Their abilities merely allowed them to touch these Weirds, so most of the pressure from the creatures now fell on Luo Xia.
Moreover, most of the Weirds had physical bodies, greatly limiting Luo Xia's abilities. Fortunately, Destroyer possessed overwhelming power over matter. Otherwise, even Luo Xia would have been stretched thin.
Of course, there was an upside: physical attacks could injure corporeal Weirds.
Now, a silver-white afterimage flashed across the beach, wiping out Weirds that were nearing the road while rescuing Ghost-Tamers on the verge of being killed.
Enabler 0-2, mounted at the tail of the Annihilator Mecha, was now being used entirely as a physical weapon. More and more Weirds came ashore, and Luo Xia could no longer cover every position.
"Aaargh!"
