When Cheng Yu opened his eyes, he saw an old face-the face of an old woman.
From Cheng Yu's perspective, the old woman was staring at his little brother with a rather lecherous smile.
"Congratulations, master! Congratulations, madam! It's a young master."
Although Cheng Yu did not understand her language, his Silver-level soul easily deciphered it. Master? Madam? Young master?
Sure enough, when Cheng Yu followed the old woman's gaze, he saw a somewhat martial-looking man and a gentle-faced, exhausted woman.
Presumably, these were the parents he had acquired through reincarnation. At the thought that he might have a warm, loving family from now on, Cheng Yu felt rather conflicted.
But the man's next words put an end to Cheng Yu's plans for a loving family.
The man frowned and said,
"Why isn't this child crying? Could he be cursed? We might as well throw him away."
The woman's expression changed drastically at those words, and she looked at her child with worry.
Now that Cheng Yu had a plan, he acted as though an award-winning actor had possessed him. His frail body did nothing to hinder his showing off-er, displaying his divinity before others.
His eyes shifted slightly toward his new father, and he spoke with an indifferent, icy gaze.
"How dare you!"
Everyone started in shock. Cheng Yu wriggled free of the little blanket wrapped around him and draped it over himself like a monk's robe. Pointing one hand toward the sky and the other toward the earth, he declared,
"Throughout heaven and earth, I alone reign supreme!"
Then Cheng Yu sat cross-legged and said majestically,
"Are you the parents of this incarnation of mine?"
Everyone stared blankly at Cheng Yu, who radiated a sacred glow (complete with built-in special effects). The man kept muttering,
