The B3397 Universe lay on the border of Balchik's Warlord Alliance. Due to its lack of resources, it was a gray zone within Balchik's sphere of influence.
As a gray zone, it naturally attracted spies, intelligence brokers, and the like. Decades ago, the old Commander-in-Chief of Balchik's Warlord Alliance had died. To prevent infighting among the major warlords under his command, infiltration by other major powers, and leaks of Balchik's vital secrets, his designated successor—the current Commander-in-Chief—had decided to immediately seal off all of Balchik.
At the same time, he had ordered a thorough purge of every gray zone in Balchik.
And so, the B3397 Universe had been hit with Meme Bombs deployed by the Balchik People. But it was, after all, one of the most famous black market locations, and some people were naturally unwilling to leave it just like that.
The Mad God, Dylan Becken, was one of them. Relying on his formidable strength and equipment from the Vax Corporation acquired through black market channels, he had gathered the Meme Viruses within a certain area onto a single planet.
As Cheng Yu read the intelligence the system had just compiled, understanding dawned on him. So that was it.
He shrugged and said,
"So there are still some space bandits around? I have to wipe them out, too?"
The system piped up,
"That's right."
Cheng Yu curled his lip.
"Sure, this is my territory now, but why does it feel so damn frustrating? There's still this whole fucking mess to clean up."
The system said,
"Come on, look at it this way. Isn't this the perfect chance to give your troops some practice and see just how strong the Legion's units are?"
Cheng Yu spread his hands.
"Actually, that's exactly what I was thinking."
