A tourist in Star Sea City watched the large screen as the Shatla Mercenaries entered the star sector where the Mechanicus's home base was located. With a heavy sigh, the tourist said,
"What a blatantly dark Star Sea. Is it just like the backdrop of the Star Sea itself, where light is only decoration and darkness is the prevailing theme?"
Someone nearby complained,
"If you ask me, the Mechanicus really is stubborn! They actually stood their ground against Shatla's tyranny. I don't know what Shatla wants, but compared with being wiped out, what's so bad about handing it over?"
The person standing beside that speaker said with a sigh of admiration,
"Heh, they'd rather die on their feet than live on their knees. That's worthy of respect."
Hearing that, the first speaker agreed,
"True. It really is admirable!"
Someone else sneered,
"They're just newborn calves unafraid of the tiger. They've only just joined the Star Sea, after all, and haven't yet grasped how dark and ruthless it is. Give them another couple of years here, and perhaps they'll learn to weigh the costs and benefits properly."
For a while, all sorts of opinions flew around, but they shared one thing in common: none of them thought the Mechanicus had much chance of winning this war.
