Euphemia had run out of options. Closing in for close-quarters combat and overwhelming them through sheer strength was the only solution she could think of.

Looking at the strangely shaped warships "not far away," Euphemia gave a direct order.

"Endgame Corps! Form up, all of you, and charge with me!"

Then Euphemia added one more instruction.

"And strip off all your equipment! We still haven't figured out how the enemy is suppressing demonic energy!"

The Endgame Corps was one of the special forces Shatla had painstakingly created. With its full complement of magical equipment, it could certainly be considered an elite force within the Shatra Civilization. Although the enemy's unknown means of suppressing demonic energy had turned all that equipment into a burden and reduced the corps' combat effectiveness, its soldiers were still not to be underestimated.

Euphemia continued issuing orders.

"Now, open a spatial warp for me! I'm taking the Endgame Corps straight into the enemy's center!"

After working the controls for a while, the operator spoke in a trembling voice.

"C-Commander! The spatial gate has... has failed!"

Euphemia replied in disbelief.

"What did you say?!"

She roared.

"The spatial gate is the crowning achievement of our Shatra spatial transportation technology! Even Vax's Black Lock can't affect it! How could it possibly fail?!"

The operator answered with an innocent expression.

"B-But it really has failed! The incantations are all in place, and the demonic energy is fully charged, but it just won't open..."

Veins bulged on Euphemia's forehead.

"Damn it!"

With the spatial gate out of commission, the enemy was at least several light-hours away. Without her power at the pinnacle of True God, she probably would not even have detected them.

But that was several light-hours! She could get there, of course, and the other remaining True Gods
