"Holy Power Link!" A beam of light swiftly connected every member of Night Raid. "Sayo, your turn!" Tatsumi shouted.
"Right!" Sayo nodded solemnly, then drove her Magic Staff into the deck! "Holy Light Protection, Massive Barrier!"
As the enormous wave crashed toward them, a vast dome of light rapidly formed around Sayo, enveloping every ship carrying the slaves.
Dragon watched in disbelief. Torrents of seawater crashed down, yet the thin Light Curtain remained perfectly still. Even the ships beneath their feet did not rock in the slightest. Outside the Light Curtain, enormous waves battered its surface; inside, the sea was calm.
The Holy Church... it seems none of its members can be underestimated! A sharp gleam flashed through Dragon's eyes.
The Marines nearby, however, were not so fortunate. Enormous waves swept over them, capsizing the Marine ships that failed to escape in time. Countless Marines struggled in the sea, tossed back and forth by the surging water as cries rang out without end.
"Sayo, can you expand the Barrier a little farther?" Tatsumi suddenly asked.
"Tatsumi, are you sure you want to do this?" Sayo asked with some hesitation, seemingly understanding his intentions.
"They were never our enemies. Calm that stretch of sea! Whether they fight us or make peace afterward is up to them!" Tatsumi said calmly as he watched the Marines struggling in the water.
After a moment's thought, Sayo agreed with Tatsumi's decision. Drawing on the holy power flowing from her teammates, she expanded the Barrier. Everywhere it passed, the raging sea became still.
