Before the Marines could even attack, the Recruit Corps had already roared that brutal slogan with overwhelming spirit.
They were also the only Marine corps whose slogan wasn't "For justice," but "Fuck them up."

The Marines roared as well, charging forward with shouts.
Marco and the others were utterly bewildered. The sudden reversal had happened too fast for them to process.

Just then, River's voice reached them.
Marco, Diamond Jozu, Vista the Flower Sword, and the others all looked up toward him.
"The fight between Newgate and me was a battle between men."
"It was also the conclusion of a fight we left unfinished twenty years ago."
"It was an honorable battle, one in which we gave everything we had."
"I respected him, and he respected me."
His voice echoed in their ears, making the Whitebeard Pirates' eyes flicker and their expressions grow heavy.
Whatever the circumstances, Pops had fallen in that duel.
"I'm going to rescue Ace!"
River's words reached them again, bringing a flash to many of their eyes.
"Whatever happens afterward, right now, I hope our two sides can unite against the Marines!"
"It's also your only way out."
The battlefield fell silent. Sengoku's expression darkened further, coldness filling his face.
If the remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates joined forces with River, they would become another force that was extremely difficult to deal with. Even if the Marines won today, they would pay an enormous price.
