"Whoosh!"
The seawater surged. Gazing out at the sea ahead, Kizaru suddenly brought something up, as though making idle conversation.
"Vice Admiral Yamakaji, do you think our old friend River will take the initiative when those two Emperor Class powerhouses meet?"
Yamakaji paused at the question, then shook his head with a smile. "I don't think so!"
"Those are two of the Four Emperors."
"Even if River defeated Whitebeard and Kaido, the pressure of facing a joint attack from two Emperors would be on an entirely different level."
Kizaru smiled, narrowing his eyes. "Is that so?"
"But why do I get the feeling that fellow really could do something like that?"
Yamakaji looked surprised, then grinned. "Well, I don't believe it."
"Of course, if he really does attack two Emperors, he'll be in serious trouble back home!"
Kizaru kept his eyes narrowed and said nothing more.
The situation was clearly extremely unfavorable for Dressrosa. Two of the Four Emperors were meeting, and their objective was already clear: to deal with River.
If he took no action, he would lose the initiative. Once the Emperors' allied forces reached his doorstep, Dressrosa would be left in ruins.
But if he struck first, there was not only the enormous risk of facing two Emperor crews alone. If the battle dragged into a stalemate, the World Government and the Navy would very likely intervene.
No one would pass up an opportunity to eliminate River. They might even take a bigger gamble and drag the two Emperors down with him.
But that risk would be the same for every side.
"What will happen next, and what will the world look like in a few days?"
"Everything really is shrouded in uncertainty!"
Facing the sea breeze, Kizaru sighed softly.
Time slipped by quietly, and in the
