The tensions within the Uchiha Clan were only beginning to surface, but to Minato Namikaze, the Hokage, they already counted as a serious matter.
Some other sensitive intelligence, however, had drawn even more of his attention and made him more solemn.
Watching Minato lower his head, his expression growing grave and guarded, River asked again, "Is there anything else?"
"Konoha's borders haven't been peaceful lately, either!"
"Kumogakure has been harassing us again, but fortunately, our people spotted them each time. They withdrew after brief clashes!"
Minato shook his head as he spoke.
"Also, people in the village have spotted some suspicious individuals."
"More importantly, those individuals have made contact with certain people in the village."
Minato paused and said no more, but his expression became exceptionally grave.
This might be a sign of something. Even someone as straightforward as him could sense a shadow looming now.
"Minato, your power base in Konoha is still a little weak!"
River sighed.
He knew who those suspicious individuals were. They were most likely the supposedly dead Obito Uchiha, Zetsu, and their associates.
And the person making contact with them was undoubtedly Danzo.
"Sui, becoming Hokage already means I've fulfilled my dream!"
"I'm lucky to have the support of my teacher, the Third Hokage, and the others."
Minato Namikaze spoke gently.
He did not mind the weakness of his power base. Every Hokage faced problems. All he needed to do was solve them and keep the village stable and growing.
"Is that so?"
River smiled and nodded as well.
"But I can't stand watching things like this."
He had grown accustomed to being forceful and standing at the pinnacle.
Afterward, he sat quietly to one side and said nothing more, while Minato began handling his administrative work.
Kakashi remained hidden nearby, waiting in silence.
