River looked up and said with a smile.
Then he took the Chunin uniform Kakashi handed him.
It consisted of a green vest, a forehead protector bearing a spiral emblem, a dark grayish-brown sleeveless shirt, and a set of dark, form-fitting clothes.
The outfit was hardly suitable for the depths of winter, though the region around Konoha was warm year-round, and even its winters were not particularly cold.
"You can start work today."
Kakashi said.
Then his figure flickered, and he vanished.
Although Kakashi was still only a Chunin, his considerable abilities were already beginning to show. He served as Minato's personal Anbu ninja.
"It's Tuesday today!"
River sighed softly and tilted his head back to look at the sky.
Snowflakes drifted down in flurries, white snow piled up on the ground, and a biting chill hung in the air.
"Then let's go see what Minato's workplace is like."
After changing into his Konoha Chunin uniform, River headed toward the Hokage Building.
The Administration Department assisted the Hokage in managing Konoha's government affairs, and it was the department River had been assigned to.
It was also located inside the Hokage Building, but the two elders who served as Hokage Advisors, Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu, rarely stayed there.
As a result, the office was mostly empty and very quiet.
Checking in was simple for River. With Minato Namikaze as his older brother, his appointment went smoothly. His position was that of a trainee advisor.
"Your first duty is to provide sound advice on the Hokage's work."
"Your second duty is to act as a liaison with the Land of Fire and receive the funds and supplies the country allocates to the village."
