After Chu Wushang left, Duan Rong sat in meditation on the Prayer Mat for a while before slowly rising to his feet.

He walked over to the foot of the stone wall and saw a shallow stream trickling through a stone channel by the wall.

Duan Rong crouched down, scooped up water to wash his face, then looked around. Seeing no vessel for drinking water, he cupped some more water in his hands and drank.

He wiped the moisture from the corner of his mouth with his sleeve, then spotted the wooden box on the stone table not far away.

The secret manual containing the Six Marvelous Mind-Watching Gate technique was what Chu Wushang had taken from that wooden box and given him.

Duan Rong's eyes flickered. Stepping around the bamboo strips scattered on the ground, he walked to the stone table, rather curious about what other Secret Manuals might be inside that wooden box.

Just as Duan Rong reached out to touch the wooden box, a faint curtain of light suddenly flashed into existence around it, enveloping the box within.

"Space Wall?!"

Duan Rong's brows drew together. Chu Wushang had clearly set this up to prevent him from touching the Secret Manuals inside the wooden box.

Duan Rong could not help curling his lip. "What, guarding it like it's against thieves?!"

Since he could not get at the Secret Manuals in the wooden box, he could only let it go. He returned to the Prayer Mat, sat cross-legged, and rested there.

Not until the next day did Duan Rong feel fully rested, his mind and spirit restored to a vibrant, abundant state. He was idly leafing through the beast-hide secret manual when Chu Wushang's figure abruptly appeared at the entrance to the secret chamber.
