Cheng Mingrui first touched the Force Field over his head with his right hand. A mask bearing Gork's broad face covered his own, leaving only the Orks' traditional huge mouth and tusks exposed.
Then he clapped his hands together in front of his chest, and two Phase Greatblades like those wielded by Skorpekh Destroyers appeared in his hands.
The Phase Greatblade was a melee weapon that passed straight through shields and armour. Its phase properties also disrupted teleportation, making it the perfect counter to Flayed Ones.
Three Flayed Ones charged straight at him. With a light sweep of the Phase Greatblade in his left hand, Cheng Mingrui cut them into six pieces.
Despite their broad, sweeping arcs, the Phase Greatblades moved with extraordinary precision in Cheng Mingrui's hands. Every slash took down several Flayed Ones without so much as scratching the nearby laboratory equipment.
Standing in the middle of the passage, Cheng Mingrui blocked most of the Flayed Ones. Only a handful slipped past to clash with the Ork Mekboys behind him.
After many Flayed Ones had fallen, a few stragglers would inevitably teleport beside the boys and tear them in half with their pairs of sharp claws.
Knowing that their Shoota rounds would be reflected back at them, the Mekboys all switched to energy weapons. These attacks were likewise absorbed into other dimensions, but they would not bounce back, and they often disrupted dimensional teleportation enough to breach the enemy's defences.
The fighting grew fiercer, and blood splashed everywhere. More Flayed Ones were drawn by the blood and picked up speed, teleporting near the corpses. Ignoring the battle raging around them, they crouched down and began devouring the flesh and blood scattered across the floor.
Like sharks drawn by the scent of blood, packs of Flayed Ones kept emerging
