"Are you even reliable?!" Rottooth was clearly losing confidence in Daft.
"Trust a legendary ace pilot, Rottooth Boss. I swear in Boss Slick's name that I can do it." Daft raised his right hand, pointing high toward Boss Slick on his throne.
Rottooth involuntarily glanced back at the throne. Boss Slick was still sitting there, as silent as an idol. Boss Copperhead, standing guard beside him, merely looked over with a vicious gleam in his eyes, his body remaining motionless.
Since Boss Copperhead and Boss Slick haven't moved, it should be safe here... leaving everything to Daft should be fine... right? Rottooth thought.
So he nodded and agreed to Daft's request, having the Weirdboy connect Daft to Big Mek Crooked Mouth through Psychic Communication.
"Big Mek, don't worry. Just leave it to me. I've read the operating manual several times. The giant Gorkanaut's design is really smart. I can pilot it alone."
"No, no, why would I have sneaked aboard? You know I'm the biggest stickler for rules. That's why I'm asking you for authorization, isn't it?"
"I guarantee there won't be any damage. But if we don't kill this Tyranid soon, there's no telling. If the Tyranid damages the giant Gorkanaut, that's not my fault."
"Relax, relax. If anything goes seriously wrong, let Boss Slick get up off his throne and give me a good hard smack on the head..."
To wheedle operating authorization out of Crooked Mouth, Daft agreed to every warning he gave, throwing in every promise and oath he could.
In the end, he got the authorization he wanted.
"Thanks, Big Mek Crooked Mouth. I knew you were the most talented Big Mek in our Screw Clan!"
After showering Crooked Mouth with flattery, Daft looked up at Rottooth and said, "All done. Watch me work, Rottooth
