The smoke had yet to clear from the gun barrel of Unit Four, piloted by Bad Gambler, when another Ripper Beast attacked. Bad Gambler flipped the gun barrel upward and smashed the Ripper Beast's head to pulp with a single blow from its Power Klaw-like stock.
Big Boss Unit Four's main weapon was an oversized solid-shot shotgun. At point-blank range, it could deal area damage, and swung as a club, it served as a melee weapon too. It was a fine weapon for both medium and long range.
At the very rear was Crooked Mouth's Big Boss Unit Three. With a sniper Lance and drone support, Unit Three was more of a ranged machine, and highly mobile to boot.
It fought by kiting its enemies. With Sneaky Boss's psychic link active, all ranged attacks were ineffective against the four Big Bosses anyway.
So Crooked Mouth kited the Ripper Beasts charging at him. Even if one or two got close, the Phase Sword at his waist could slice them clean in half.
The four Mighty Big Bosses led the hundred-thousand-strong Ork Fleet in a frontal breakthrough that looked all but unstoppable.
The acid and plasma fired by the forests of Spore Towers on Ork IV had very little effect, because Sneaky Boss was cheating. Using the four Mighty Big Bosses' battles as anchors, he diluted the Blood God's blessing of immunity to ranged attacks and extended it across the entire assault fleet.
With its heightened perception of the Warp, the Great Devourer immediately noticed the problem. Once again, it felt that the Blood God was targeting it. It would remember this grudge!
