Beneath the ground, the furious exchanges and bombardments grew heavier and more powerful. Sometimes, the Shard of the Void Dragon lashed out at Duncehead with lightning from its hands, blasting out an enormous, bottomless cavern.
After dodging the attack, Duncehead retaliated with a punch to the Shard of the Void Dragon's chest.
The force passed through its chest and struck the rock wall behind it. Vast sections of rock turned to powder and began to collapse, and up on the surface, a mountain came crashing down.
The fierce battle lasted more than ten minutes. Duncehead grew more worked up the longer he fought, and with an endless stream of energy channeled into the Waaagh! Field by Sneaky Boss, he only grew stronger.
The Shard of the Void Dragon, on the other hand, lacked an energy source. It grew weaker as the fight dragged on, struggling more and more.
With one growing stronger and the other weaker, the outcome was no longer in doubt.
Finally, Duncehead slammed another plain, straightforward punch into the Shard of the Void Dragon's body. This time, the C'tan Shard could endure no more and shattered.
Through Duncehead's eyes, it broke into countless green stars that vanished into the air.
Then he, too, exhausted his strength. He dropped out of his Hulk form, plopped down on the ground, and fell asleep.
From Sneaky Boss's perspective, however, he was using the Waaagh! Field to absorb the shattered Shard of the Void Dragon, converting it into his own power and strengthening his divine authority.
At the same time, Sneaky Boss discovered a truth.
