At the very top of the arena, where the view was best, Sneaky Boss sat with his closest Bosses, watching the competition.
Having just withdrawn from the interstellar collective Waaagh! field, Sneaky Boss had left the Psychic Power Convergence Tower. His mind and soul needed rest after being immersed in the Waaagh! field for so long.
He finally turned his attention to the present and relaxed a little. That transcendent state could not be maintained indefinitely. He was only beyond a demigod, not a full-fledged god.
A group of little Gretchin noticed the mighty Sneaky Boss laughing as he watched the competition. They immediately brought up a tableful of fine food from behind: colorful mushroom beers in every flavor, juicy Squig prepared seven or eight different ways, and exquisite pastries.
Before Sneaky Boss could even reach for the food, Rottooth, Iron Claw, and Dio had already made a mess of the table. They stuffed themselves with food and drink while passing judgment on the competition.
Sneaky Boss smiled and did not stop them. Peaceful days like these were nice. There was no Waaagh!, but these close subordinates of his were not in mortal danger either.
Power was seductive. Ascending to godhood came at a price.
Sneaky Boss still did not know which Orks would bear that price, and he was becoming reluctant to pay it. Things were good as they were. There was no need to go any further.
Kidd snatched an untouched piece of roast meat and a large mug of Squig beer from the table and brought them to Sneaky Boss.
"Boss, these gits are used to being rough. They've got no manners. Don't get angry with 'em. This stuff's pretty good, so give it a try," Kidd said after setting down the plate.
