A vast fissure tore open in the empty reaches at the center of the Blind Obedience Star System. Unlike the Warp, the rift spewed torrents of violent, frenzied energy, several orders of magnitude more powerful than a star going supernova.

"Something big is coming..." Flames blazed in Vashtorr's hollow metal eye sockets.

An enormous planet was spat out of the rift, a layer of green energy protecting it from the energies within.

The planet had no atmosphere, making it easy to see that it was built entirely of metal: metal forged into a city, and that city cast into a world.

Luo Wen, who had become a Big Mek, took the goggles off his head and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Good thing I'm so good at this. Nearly got swept away by the spatial turbulence."
