The Orks' guns had terrifyingly large calibers. Even a glancing hit from a lance beam or macro-cannon shell inflicted crippling damage. Every warship smaller than a cruiser was destroyed, while more than two-thirds of the capital ships cruiser-sized or larger were lost. Almost all of the remaining third were damaged as well.
The Chaos Fleet encircled farther inside fared little better. Half its warships, both capital ships and escort ships, were destroyed.
The Dark Angels fleet at the very center actually suffered the least damage in the bombardment, losing less than a quarter of its ships. Trapped inside the encirclement, they had been shielded from much of the fire by the fleets around them.
Overall, even with Vashtorr undermining the bombardment's effectiveness, that single salvo wiped out half the warships on both the loyalist and traitor sides of the Imperium of Man, leaving them with only a third of their previous fighting strength.
"Nice! Nice!" Luo Wen was thrilled. "A flashy entrance and a stunning strike! I'm the flashiest lad in this fight!"
"But... Boss..." The Mekboy beside him spoiled Luo Wen's mood yet again. "Since you ordered us to fire every gun, the bombardment array's badly damaged, Boss. Less than a tenth of it can still fire. Fixing all of it'll take at least a month..."
The Greenskins had completely failed to notice Vashtorr's influence. They merely wondered why so many guns had broken, and why flesh had even sprouted in some places. Still, the Greenskins hardly cared about such details. They could just burn off the flesh and repair everything later.
Luo Wen viciously kicked the mood-killing Mekboy. "You saying it's my fault?! I'm the Boss. I don't make mistakes."
Knowing that angering the Big Mek again might really get him sent to the mines or assigned to
