Several accomplished Tzeentch sorcerers gathered together and used magic to transform the towering Plague Crystal in the distance into Tzeentch's Mutating Crystal, instantly giving Tzeentch a foothold there.
More Portals opened near the Mutating Crystal, and countless Tzeentch daemons poured out, striking Nurgle's Plague Host from behind.
Facing crises at both the front and the rear, Mortarion, never an outstanding commander to begin with, was at a loss for how to respond.
"I'll stabilize the front." Hols's voice sounded so sweet to Mortarion's ears. He felt all the more certain that cultivating good relations with Hols had been his wisest decision. In time, they would surely forge a friendship and destroy the Imperium of Man together.
"Good. Black Death will go with you. I'll take the Death Guard to kill those disgusting magical monsters." Mortarion immediately agreed to Hols's proposal.
Without much wrangling over authority, half the Plague Host followed Hols toward the front, while Mortarion led the rest to stabilize the rear.
After bringing the host to the front, Hols did not immediately enter the battlefield alongside the Great Unclean One to join the fighting. Instead, he observed from behind the lines.
After fighting alongside Boss Slick for so long, not to mention the experience he had gained over the past few years, Hols had learned a thing or two from watching others. His command skills had improved as well.
The Khorne Daemon Army attacked ferociously, its troops packed tightly together. Ranged weapons such as Skull Cannons were few in number, having been left behind.
After observing these characteristics, Hols made arrangements to counter them.
First, he deepened the ranks and shortened the defensive line, concentrating more of Nurgle's units together. This would not only make his troops more resilient, but also improve the Nurgle daemons' ability to recover.
