On the bridge, a prophet who unwittingly looked at the vortex broke down. First came terror, then laughter, then rage. Immediately afterward, her body began to rot and mutate.
Her skin turned purple, its surface impossibly smooth and softer than a peeled egg. An arm sprouted from her back, followed by a claw.
At the same time, her face and body began to decay. Her muscles slackened and rotted, and a putrid stench enveloped her. More flesh began to grow, but with every new lump, fresh, healthy flesh began to rot.
Yvraine drew the Crone Sword at her waist and slew the corrupted prophet.
"Gods must not be looked upon, understood, or spoken of. Everyone, kill those tainted by the Chaos Gods immediately. They are no longer your brothers, sisters, or comrades. Steady yourselves and pray to Ynnead!"
Through her psychic power, Yvraine immediately issued the order to the entire Reaper Host.
Before even engaging the daemons, the Reaper Host had lost a vast portion of its fighting strength merely by looking directly at the vortex, all because their psychic power was too strong.
This had proven to be yet another failed expedition for the Reaper Host. Many began to lose their nerve, wanting to leave this increasingly terrifying place as soon as possible.
Yvraine stubbornly ordered the fleet to remain where it was and prepare to sail into the vortex. Some thought she had gone mad.
The Prophet of Ynnead and the four Crone Swords in her possession suppressed all opposition.
"No, this is the Aeldari's last chance. In Ynnead's name!" The Avatar of Ynnead appeared behind Yvraine, lending support to the enforcement of her orders.
