In many films and television shows, raptors were portrayed as terrifying killers: cold-blooded, ruthless, and skilled at hunting and fighting as a team.

The raptor-like creatures surrounding Cheng Mingrui shared those traits. They were even faster, and their claws carried disintegration fields that could tear through his Power Armour.

Their regenerative abilities were formidable too. Cheng Mingrui had punched one raptor squarely in the body, and the sound suggested he had shattered its organs and every bone in its body. Yet after struggling on the ground for a moment, it had stood back up in just thirty seconds or so, ready to keep fighting.

Other Nobz would have had a hard time dealing with this pack of raptors, but against Cheng Mingrui, they simply weren't enough.

Once he understood the raptor-like creatures' traits, he stopped holding back. A mass of Armour Components instantly covered his swinging iron fist, assembling under magnetic force into a Power Fist.

The raptor he struck was instantly smashed to pieces. Surely they couldn't recover after being reduced to that.

It took another few minutes. Under Cheng Mingrui's iron fists, almost every punch killed a creature outright, and soon all the raptor-like monsters were dead.

Sitting beside the pile of corpses, Cheng Mingrui started pondering again. Where had the monsters he, Kuka, and the others encountered come from, and what was their purpose?

Was that technician named Afentis controlling them? Was he trying to kill them with these monsters?

Obviously, that was impossible. Even the Necrons' armies couldn't do it, so how could these monsters? Afentis didn't seem like a fool. He wouldn't do something so pointless.
