Before long, the Orks sprang into action and hauled Dio's Eye of Mork inside. A powerful yellow laser blasted the green barrier.
It wasn't completely ineffective, but the result was barely better than nothing.
"Dio, can you do this or not? Can you blast this barrier open? When Boss Slick and the others finish having their fun and come out to find us still stuck outside the door, how're we supposed to show our faces?" The Mega Bosses started grumbling again.
Dio was furious. He bit through the screw he habitually held between his teeth and said, "There's a limit to what the Eye of Mork can do on its own! I need something bigger, something with more kick, and a lot more power."
Switching his comms to the public channel, Dio ordered all the Mekboys, "Boss Slick and Kidd ain't here, so I'm the strongest Mekboy now. I want all of you thinking! Hook all the skeletons' power sources together in parallel.
"I'm gonna build the biggest, most Waaagh! Zzap Gun ever, the kind that can blast through the planet's crust in one shot! If I miss out on this Waaagh!, none of you are ever getting another Waaagh! either!"
The Mekboys who heard Dio's order over the comms exchanged looks. They still didn't understand what had happened... but what if Boss Slick wasn't around and Dio became the new boss?
Not being allowed to join a Waaagh! was too horrifying to contemplate. They had to get moving right away!
And so, vast numbers of Mekboys began digging up Necron tombs, dismantling those green power sources and connecting them in parallel. At the same time, they drew up new blueprints, trying to work the skeletons' technology into a truly Waaagh!-worthy Zzap Gun.
