Hundreds of Necrons could not hold back even seven or eight Krork. They scrambled like human soldiers, leaping and dodging, terrified of being caught in that strange light.
Of course, their troubles did not end there.
Far beyond their line of sight, a group of Aeldari were using their psychic power to commune with the Warp.
They looked little different from the Aeldari of the present, but their psychic power was terrifyingly strong. Even without actively using it, they visibly distorted the space around them.
Once their preparations were complete, a vast cloud of psychic power appeared above the Necrons, countless bolts of lightning churning within it.
Before long, the psychic storm took shape. Like nimble threads, its lightning struck every Necron with pinpoint precision, deftly bypassing force fields strong enough to withstand macro-cannon fire and rendering them useless.
The psychic lightning was immensely powerful as well. Though it fell short of the absolute erasure inflicted by the Orks' shoulder cannons, every Necron struck either turned to dust or collapsed, unable to fight.
It was hard to imagine that the Necrons, all but invincible in the 40k era and once called destroyers of worlds, could be crushed and annihilated so easily.
With the Krork leading the charge and the ancient Aeldari providing ranged support, their advantage on a conventional battlefield was so overwhelming that the Necrons seemed to have no hope of victory.
The same scene played out across the entire planet.
Suddenly, a surge of green energy dispersed the psychic storm overhead. An enormous Black Obelisk rose from the ground, and a mysterious field enveloped the entire battlefield.
The Aeldari and Orks found their connection to psychic power severed, while the power within their souls steadily drained away.
At the tip of the Black Obelisk, a green singularity erupted
