"": "On the outskirts of Beiwei City lay an old neighborhood.
Even bustling Hong City had its share of seemingly forgotten "corners."
The oldest street was still paved with blue stone bricks, worn glossy by years of use. Grass roots and tender shoots poked through the muddy cracks.
Beside the road stood a tiled two-story house, its floor-to-ceiling windows polished bright.
An old building stood flush against it. Its walls were a mixture of brick and timber, while the second floor was entirely wooden. Neat lettering on the wall lent it a weight of history.
There were plenty of shops along the street, all selling everyday sundries.
One even bore a sign reading "Heavenly Dipper Hall." It advertised Feng Shui readings and fortune-telling, yet somehow also had a picture of the Tang Monk hanging outside.
"Squeak, squeak, squeak." Fourth Master Gray squeaked a couple of times, saying, "Well, would you look at that! A monk running a fortune-telling shop. Now that's an eye-opener!"
"Little Luo, if you won't put a talisman on your Grand Master, I'll die of boredom. Believe me, I'll quit and leave you here!" Fourth Master Gray began squeaking again.
Rather than perching on Luo Bin's shoulder, Fourth Master Gray had hidden on his back because the old street was crowded at this hour, with only a head peeking out of his collar. It looked utterly ridiculous.
"This is no fun... You really think I'm just a rat? I'm telling you, I'm going to get depressed. Say something, Little Luo!"
That rat mouth kept moving.
Luo Bin remained completely unmoved.
The old streets formed a tangled maze, with several side streets cutting across the main one.
Luo Bin made a circuit.
He left the busiest "commercial" stretch and entered a quiet residential area.
