The tables and chairs looked crude, but their construction was sturdy.
Mats woven from bark, thick grass, and vines lay on the ground, covered with animal hides.
A group of people with strange, deformed faces sat on those mats. Without exception, they were looking toward the other side, where the cave's exit was.
The exit was small. Sunlight shone through it like a white circle, and someone stood beside it, slightly hunched over as he looked outside.
"He's raving like a madman. That laughter is too loud. He sounds very happy. No, not happy-ecstatic."
"He probably won't keep looking for me."

The man spoke in a steady voice.
Then he turned around.
He was the only person in the group whose face was normal.
