"": "Luo Bin shook his head, finally coming fully to his senses. He said quietly, "I'm fine, Old Master Zhang."
"How's your injury?" Luo Bin then looked at Zhang Baijiao's left forearm.
"As long as you're all right. Mine's nothing serious either." Zhang Baijiao finally breathed a sigh of relief. He opened another small porcelain bottle, tipped out two pills, and swallowed them.
Color visibly returned to Zhang Baijiao's face.
After that came silence.
Zhang Baijiao said nothing, and Luo Bin remained just as quiet.
He checked the time on the Pocket Watch. It was only just past midnight.
Luo Bin put everything out of his mind, went to the little room's entrance, and sat down on the floor, leaning against the door to rest his eyes.
Slowly, genuine drowsiness crept over him, and he drifted off.
By the time Luo Bin woke, daylight had long since broken. A faint ray of morning sunlight even shone through the glass in the little room's roof. Zhang Baijiao leaned against the small wooden table, half asleep. The wound on his exposed left forearm had already scabbed over.
Luo Bin stood and rolled his neck. It was painfully stiff.
Zhang Baijiao jolted awake too, opening his eyes and raising his head before bracing himself against the table to stand.
Luo Bin said nothing, merely nodding to Zhang Baijiao.
He pushed the door open and stepped out. The smell of blood inside the Medicine Shop had grown stronger. Much of the pooled blood on the floor had dried, forming a thin skin.
Luo Bin headed back toward the Two-Story House at a moderate pace that Zhang Baijiao could keep up with.
Before long, they reached the house.
