"": "He had walked for a long time, covering a long stretch of mountain trail. Luo Bin was no longer walking through the forest, but along a narrow path hugging the mountainside.
On one side stood an almost vertical rock face; on the other lay a vast slope, much like the terrain beside the Feng Family's home.
Here, however, the trees only began growing forty or fifty meters below the narrow path beneath Luo Bin's feet.
Anyone afraid of heights would have gone weak in the knees standing here.
The path was barely a meter wide. If he spread his arms, they would hang over empty air. One careless step would send him tumbling down the cliffside.
Luo Bin walked slowly, but steadily.
At last, he reached the end of the path.
The terrain here looked even more like the edge of the Feng Family's residence.
The path ended at a cliff. Another cliff stood directly opposite, forty or fifty meters away, as though a perfectly good road had been forcibly sliced apart.
The sight across the gap made Luo Bin's blood run cold.
That path was much the same, narrow and no more than a meter wide.
Evil spirits wandered unsteadily along it.
Some collided with one another and fell down the slope beside them.
Others reached the cliff's edge, where those coming up behind suddenly pushed the ones in front over.
Every so often, another evil spirit plunged off the cliff.
Luo Bin's heart raced.
Had I been drawn all the way here?
What was making the evil spirits here leap off the cliff, one after another?
Was that mysterious sense of guidance bringing me here to jump off too?
Very close now...
That thought inexplicably surfaced in his mind again.
