"": ""Bring me a bowl." Luo Bin felt his confidence return.
"Use my alms bowl." Bai Zhi took a bowl from his robes and offered it to Luo Bin.
Luo Bin did not take it. He simply opened his hand and let the blood keep dripping from his palm. Soon, a shallow layer pooled in the bowl.
Once he judged there was enough, Luo Bin clenched his fist and withdrew his hand.
"Smear the blood over his body and see whether it works. If it does, I'll draw more," Luo Bin said gravely.
"Let me." Bai Zhi turned and approached the Monk Overseer.
Several other Monk Overseers immediately came forward and stripped all the clothes off the man on the ground. They held him down while Bai Zhi began applying the blood.
Soon, blood had been smeared over his entire body, but his condition showed little improvement.
The other Monk Overseers exchanged looks. Bai Zhi's smile vanished, replaced by shock and uncertainty.
"Mr. Luo... what is going on?" Bai Zhi turned his head and asked awkwardly.
"Try feeding him the blood." Luo Bin's expression was equally tense.
"But... that would violate the precepts..." Bai Zhi looked even more troubled.
Luo Bin said nothing more. He simply stared steadily at Bai Zhi.
"A life is at stake. May the Buddha forgive me."
Bai Zhi lowered his head, brought the bowl of blood straight to the Monk Overseer's lips, and poured it into his mouth.
A large mouthful of blood went down, yet there was still no effect...
