"": "The silence lasted a few seconds before a skeletal hand reached out of the Clay Jar and took the Calling Bell Luo Bin offered. Miao Gu's head emerged from the mouth of the jar again.
Luo Bin took a deep breath and focused all his attention on the door before him. He placed his palms against the middle of its panels again and pushed hard to either side.
There was considerable resistance, accompanied by a muffled sound.
The door opened.
Beyond it was a winding staircase leading down.
Fleshball Lampstands still protruded from the walls, their candles burning quietly. Luo Bin's shadow fell across the wall and bent along the ceiling of the tomb passage. With the head sticking out of the Clay Jar behind him, the whole silhouette looked just like a vicious ghost.
"The air vent is directly beneath the entrance burial chamber. The passage curves downward, which means we're almost there."
A trace of excitement entered Luo Bin's voice, but his caution did not diminish in the slightest.
He took one extremely careful step, then two, then three, and stopped before the first Fleshball Lampstand, staring motionlessly at its flame.
This was how he had triggered the White Gu in the previous passage.
By rights, a second kind of Gu should appear here.
But would it really be as Miao Gu had said? Would the Gu Worms draw out his greed, and what kind of hallucination would he see?
Yet even after a long wait, no Gu Worms crawled out, and Luo Bin felt no discomfort.
