After swallowing that mouthful of grass, Luo Bin felt a little better.
He walked and stopped, eating a few mouthfuls whenever he found tender grass. If he spotted wild vegetables or medicinal herbs like plantain, honeysuckle, or lantern plant, he pulled them up and stuffed them into his mouth to chew.
With something in his stomach, his spirits improved a little.
But Luo Bin was far, far too slow. Descending a mountain was still too much to ask of someone who had only just recovered from a serious illness.

Looking farther ahead, he could make out a few two- and three-story buildings. This was not an old village on the verge of abandonment. But judging by the view from the mountain, it was not near a town either. It was relatively remote.
