Luo Bin considered it for a second or two, then nodded.
In a sense, he had used Fan Jie today.
That meant he couldn't simply cast him aside.
He had promised to accompany Fan Jie to that place if Fan Jie helped him, and he had to keep his word.
"Great!" Fan Jie's eyes grew livelier, filling with excitement.
"I'll get moving, then. Have a good rest and get your strength back." Fan Jie wiped his hands on his clothes and started to turn away.
Luo Bin's pupils contracted slightly. He caught Fan Jie by the arm, gripping it with considerable force.
"What's wrong, Mr. Luo?"
Fan Jie looked bewildered.
Luo Bin stared straight at his face.
Earlier, Fan Jie's face had glowed with vitality. Obtaining the ritual artifacts from Six Yin Mountain had been a stroke of fortune for him, and his face had reflected that.
Now, however, that healthy glow had faded.
His thick eyebrows pressed downward, and his eyes were somewhat bleary, as though he hadn't slept well.
Indeed, Fan Jie had been awake all night too.

He had realized Luo Bin was reading his face.
Luo Bin continued examining him closely.
Fan Jie's upper forehead was dark, as though veiled in dust, with a dusky bluish tint.
More importantly, the bridge of his nose between his eyes was pale and withered. The dusky blue of his forehead seemed to be seeping into it.
