Arc 25The Mad Monk and the Gu

Luo Bin dealt with Lu You’s death, discovered his blood and hexagrams could counter Gu, and joined Zhang Yunxi’s group to confront the murderous Kong An. After escaping the temple, Luo Bin learned more about the Six-Arts Fangshi and accepted a test from an old man who claimed the Essence-Devouring Gu had made Luo Bin its host.

  • Luo Bin and Bai Wei killed Lu You, but a false corpse pill taken by a Gray Immortal exploded, and the group concealed what had happened from the Nether Market.
  • Luo Bin went to White Buddha Temple, where the white silkworm entered Bai Guang’s ear, and he then used his blood and the Lake-Thunder Following hexagram to free the afflicted Monk Overseers.
  • Luo Bin returned to South Flat City, advanced his physiognomy skills, and joined Zhang Yunxi and Bai Wei at Golden Peace Temple to investigate Kong An.

Arc 26The Underground Palace

Luo Bin entered Dai Zhixiong’s Underground Palace to rescue Hu Jin and Huang Ying, fighting through its Fangshi and reuniting with Shangguan Xingyue. After the group escaped with a Corpse Core, Luo Bin split off to confront Dai Tong at Gravemound Ridge.

  • Luo Bin and Miao Miao recognized that Dai Zhixiong had trapped the routes around Ludi Village, then found the Sacred Way leading into the Underground Palace.
  • Luo Bin and Miao Gu defeated Dai Ji and forced him to reveal how to open the palace entrance.
  • Luo Bin entered the Underground Palace alone with Miao Gu, burned corpse guardians with Lightning-Struck Chestnut Heartwood, and fought through Fangshi who broke his formation.

Arc 27The Miao King’s Mark

Luo Bin traveled to Thousand Miao Village, where his gu and unusual mark drew the attention of the Miao people and the forces of Spirit-Transfer Cave. After fighting their ambush, he discovered that the pool’s feng shui could revive corpses and found a deep hole beneath its island.

  • Luo Bin reached Thousand Miao Village with Miao Miao and his companions, passed Granny Li’s test, and was allowed to stay under supervision.
  • Miao Lan tried to steal Luo Bin’s Shell-Devouring Gu, but Fourth Master Gray injured him, and Luo Bin later gave blood to help revive Miao Miao’s grandfather.
  • During the visit to Three Miao Cave, Luo Bin endured a painful ritual and discovered that his gu mark attracted Gu-Bound People and Cave Maidens.
  • Luo Bin used the Lake-Thunder Following Hexagram to cross the storm safely with Miao Miao, then fought a living corpse at a forbidden pool and learned it had become a black fiend.

Arc 28The Black-Gold Toad

Luo Bin survived the tomb’s White Gu, escaped the village’s marriage rite, and accepted the Miao King’s offer to cultivate for Thousand Miao Village. After half a year refining gu, he returned with a Black-Gold Toad while Huang Ying left Three Perils Mountain.

  • Fourth Master Gray took the corpse core into the passage beneath Lakeheart Island, and Luo Bin followed him into a tomb where White Gu trapped him in painful illusions.
  • Miao Gu rang the Calling Bell to wake Luo Bin, who escaped the tomb and returned to Thousand Miao Village, where Zhang Yunxi used a Bronze Club to drive out a White Gu.
  • Granny Li brought Luo Bin to the Miao King, who revealed Lord Mo Di’s connection to the Three Corpse Worms and offered Luo Bin freedom and succession in exchange for protecting the village.
