The sight nearly melted her heart, and she hurriedly gathered the soft, snowy-white little Sword Spirit into her arms.

[Silver Snow: This Immortal Sword wants to watch too!]

"All right, all right! You can watch! I'll let you watch!"

Lan Yue readily agreed, remembering that there seemed to be a sharing feature for watching these videos.

Because of the system, and because she had so many secrets hidden in her mind, she had never used that feature before. Now that she had Silver Snow, though, she felt perfectly comfortable sharing!

Gossip was something you had to share with others to really enjoy it!

What was the fun in laughing alone? Everyone should laugh together!

So she tapped share, and a video of beauties standing in the rain immediately appeared in the minds of everyone nearby.

Lan Yue had no idea. She simply held Silver Snow and enjoyed herself.

[Lan Yue: No wonder Elder Lu fell for them. With so many delicate beauties, who wouldn't be tempted?]

[Lan Yue: Even the handsome men dressed as women are tempting! Masters of cross-dressing-now that takes real skill!]

Outside the Morning Cultivation Hall, Elder Lu no longer wanted to say a word. Seeing so many people looking at him curiously, he nearly fainted.

How was it that even after coming to the Morning Cultivation Hall, he still couldn't escape Lan Yue?

[Lan Yue: Elder Lu was very imposing when he drove them away this time, and his words were harsh enough to crush all his partners' hopes. Those delicate beauties have already decided to stop paying him any attention and return to their sects for secluded cultivation.]

Many people thoroughly approved of that outcome. What was so attractive about someone like Elder Lu, whose eyebrows had already turned completely white? It was only because cultivators aged slowly that his face was still reasonably handsome.

No matter how handsome he was, did that entitle him to have Eighteen Dao Companions all to himself? Pah!

Even the elder on the platform inwardly scorned his fellow sect member.

*[Lan Yue: But, but among the partners he drove away was White Moonlight, the woman he's been pining for all these years!*

This plot is such a melodramatic mess, too. White Moonlight was hunted down by her enemies and nearly died, only for those partners to join forces to save her and bring her back to the sect.

He found Eighteen Dao Companions as stand-ins, only for his own White Moonlight to be among them. A plot like that would've been an absolute bombshell even in the TV dramas I used to watch!

*If Elder Lu knew that the person he'd missed for all these years was right there among the stand-ins he'd gathered, and that he'd even driven her away himself, he'd probably be half-dead with anger.]*

[Silver Snow: This man is such a philanderer! He actually has that many cultivation partners!]

[Lan Yue: Exactly, exactly. You should stay faithful and never imitate those womanizing elders. Silver Snow, even as a Spirit Sword, you need to remember that!]

[Silver Snow: Hmph, ╭(╯^╰)╮. I am an Immortal Sword, not some Spirit Sword!]

[Lan Yue: All right, all right. Our ethereal Lord Silver Snow is the greatest!]

After soothing Silver Snow in her mind, Lan Yue noticed that everyone around her was craning their necks to look behind them.

"Did something happen back there, Ming?" She quietly tugged at the boy beside her.

The boy's name was Fang Ming. He was someone she had met on her very first day at the sect, and much of her gossip had come from him.

At the moment, Fang Ming was wearing the grayish-brown robes of an outer disciple, his little face brimming with mystery.

"Lan Yue, do you know who just came by?" Fang Ming lowered his voice.

"Who?" Lan Yue grew curious too. Had some important figure come to the sect, or had someone from a clan come in person?

"Elder Lu just came by. Apparently, he drove away all the Eighteen Dao Companions he kept at home." Fang Ming lowered his voice even further.

"You all already know?" Lan Yue was astonished. Could she actually have been the last person in the entire sect to get this gossip?

"Not only that, apparently the woman Elder Lu loved most back then was among them. He probably found out about it, because he ran off without even entering the Morning Cultivation Hall." A girl nearby leaned over to join their discussion.

Listening to their discussion, Lan Yue was utterly heartbroken. She had never imagined that the gossip she had spent her mental energy uncovering was already known to so many people.

If she had known sooner, she could have gotten the gossip from them and saved today's mental energy for something new!

At that moment, Lan Yue looked as though she had missed out on ten billion spirit stones.

Naturally, the two people facing her didn't dare admit that they had heard it from her thoughts, so they could only nod.

"I never imagined Elder Lu had a story like that. When I saw him at the Hidden Sword Pavilion a while ago, I thought he looked so kindly and benevolent, like a really good-hearted elder." Fang Ming sighed like a little adult.

"Who could have known? After all, who would ever guess that someone could have eighteen cultivation partners at once?" The girl opposite them was equally incredulous.

"I bet he'll end up in the wife-chasing crematorium," Lan Yue chimed in with a cheerful smile as she listened to the gossip.

"What's a wife-chasing crematorium?" Fang Ming looked over curiously.

"How do I put it? If I had to describe it, it's when you start out ignoring someone and tormenting them in body and heart, only to suddenly repent later. By then, trying to win them back is no easy task." Recalling those tropes from her previous life, Lan Yue finally summed it up in a sentence.

"That's perfect! After everything Elder Lu did, that's exactly how he deserves to be treated!" The round-faced girl opposite them clapped in delight.

"But when the time comes, no matter how hard Elder Lu tries to win her back, he mustn't get what he wants! Bury him right in that crematorium!"

Girls with such clear-eyed convictions were rare these days. After hearing that, Lan Yue took a closer look at her and finally realized that her face seemed familiar.

"Have we met somewhere before?" She scratched her head, a little puzzled.

"What's your name?"

"I'm Luan Ning! It was thanks to you that my uncle found me!" Luan Ning reached out with her chubby little hands and gratefully clasped Lan Yue's hand.

"Don't worry. As long as I'm in the sect, I'll definitely protect you!" Luan Ning lifted her plump little face, her tone exceptionally sincere.

"Oh, it's you!" Realization dawned on Lan Yue. No wonder she felt as though they had met somewhere recently. It had been on Green Silk Mountain.

Could she be the protagonist of that fan fiction?

As Luan Ning chatted here, she had no idea that, far away on Cloudmist Mountain, her real uncle had sat waiting for three whole days and nights without seeing her, and was now utterly frazzled in the wind.

"My little brother said his daughter would be coming to the Southern Spirit Sect around this time, and that she'd be heading into the mountains to train!"

"This is the mountain outer disciples usually come to for training. But where is she?"

"Where did my whole grown niece go?"
