Like every frenzied shopper, Lan Yue had gotten carried away at first. Once she calmed down, however, her heart ached terribly, and she began tallying up where all her spending had gone.
She did not have ten thousand points, so she had to spend one thousand to unlock a general map of the Demon Realm.
Great. One thousand points gone.
The system then said that locating someone across realms was difficult, and she needed to spend another two thousand points to activate location tracking in the Demon Realm. She thought that made perfect sense and spent another two thousand.
Snap. Three thousand points gone in total.
After that, the system said there was too much gossip in the Demon Realm, and it needed to be sorted into categories.
Receiving all that gossip initially would consume an enormous amount of energy and cost five thousand points.
However, since Lan Yue was already out of points, the system decided to offer a discount. Just two thousand points would do.
And so, before Lan Yue could even warm her newly acquired little nest egg in her hands, she owed the system another two thousand points.
That was how she had ended up in debt again. In short, it hurt. It truly, painfully hurt!
Still, there was one benefit: the Demon Realm map was now unlocked. Once she advanced to an intermediate gossip spectator, she could enjoy gossip from afar!
That comforted Lan Yue considerably, and she decided not to hold the system's temptations against it anymore.
