"Stand up straight! Why are you cowering?" The old Demon King frowned instinctively at the sight of his son.
The Second Highness hurriedly puffed out his chest and instinctively straightened his clothes.
Only after he had made himself presentable did the old Demon King across from him look satisfied.
By then, however, the Second Highness was on the verge of tears. What did he care about appearances now? Once his father found out there really was a tunnel beneath his bed, he was finished!
Yet he did not dare bring it up now, so he could only stand there scratching his ears and head, wanting to speak but holding back.
"Why are you fidgeting like a monkey? You're just like one of those uncivilized, low-ranking devils!" The old Demon King shot him another glance.
"Father, I'm feeling a little unwell. I'll be going now." The Second Highness finally came up with a plan. He intended to get out of here first, or he might not escape with his life!
The old Demon King pondered for a moment, then finally nodded.
"All right, you can leave. I'll take care of things here."
He glanced at the ruined ingredients and quickly ordered the devils under him to prepare a fresh batch.
Otherwise, if mealtime came and the Demon King's Hall could not serve a decent meal, the other Demon Kings would certainly complain.
The Second Highness's eyes lit up. He truly had not expected the old man to agree so quickly, and hurriedly mustered every ounce of his strength to fly away.
